Commercial Roofing
Commercial roofing that keeps DFW buildings dry
Low-slope systems — TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and silicone restorations — specified for Texas sun and scheduled around the people who work under the roof.

A leak over a showroom, a warehouse aisle, or a medical suite is not a cosmetic problem. It is inventory, tenants, and downtime. Genes Construction installs and maintains low-slope commercial roofs across Dallas–Fort Worth: new membranes, recover systems, and targeted repairs that do not require shutting the building down for a week if the condition does not demand it.
We walk the roof, core if needed, and tell you whether a coating or patch is honest — or whether you are coating over a wet deck. That conversation happens before a crew is booked, not after the first invoice.
What we handle
TPO membranes
Heat-welded thermoplastic roofs that reflect Texas sun, resist chemical exposure, and detail cleanly around HVAC curbs and penetrations.
PVC systems
A close cousin to TPO with stronger chemical and grease resistance — a better fit over restaurants and some industrial occupancies.
Modified bitumen
Multi-ply asphalt systems, hot or cold applied, when puncture resistance and a traditional built-up feel matter more than a single-ply look.
Silicone restorations
100% silicone coatings over sound TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, SPF, or metal. Restores waterproofing and reflectivity when the deck is dry and the existing roof still has life.
How a job actually runs
01
Condition report
We map ponding, seams, flashings, and wet insulation. You get a written recommendation: repair, restore, or replace.
02
Work window
Commercial jobs are staged around your operations — nights, weekends, or phased roofs — so tenants are not walking through a tear-off.
03
Close-out
Warranties, photos, and a maintenance plan so the next leak is a phone call, not a surprise.
Questions we hear first
Which commercial roof is right for my building?
Structure, ponding, chemical exposure, budget, and remaining life of the current roof all matter. TPO is a common DFW choice for offices and warehouses; PVC for kitchens; modified bitumen where abuse is high; silicone when the existing roof can be restored instead of torn off.
Can you maintain a roof you did not install?
Yes. We inspect, repair leaks, and set a maintenance calendar on most low-slope systems as long as the deck is sound.
How long does a commercial reroof take?
A small office can be days. A large box or multi-building campus is phased over weeks. We give a realistic window at the first meeting and keep the property manager updated daily while we are on the roof.
Do you work on recover systems or only tear-offs?
Both, when code and the existing assembly allow a recover. If insulation is wet or the deck is compromised, we recommend tear-off. We will not recover a wet roof just to win the bid.
