Service disclaimers
Please read these terms before relying on this website or requesting work from Gene's Construction, LLC. They apply to roofing, storm restoration, siding, paint, exterior shades, concrete, masonry, and general contracting described on this site.

Website and estimates are not a contract
Information on this website, including service descriptions, photographs, prices mentioned in conversation, and the online estimate form, is for general information only. Submitting a request, calling the office, or receiving a free inspection does not create a contract, warranty, or obligation to perform work. Work proceeds only under a written agreement signed by Gene’s Construction, LLC (or Genes Construction LLC) and the property owner or authorized agent. If a website statement conflicts with a signed contract, the contract controls.
Inspections, hidden conditions, and change of scope
Roof, siding, concrete, masonry, shade, paint, and other inspections are visual unless a contract says otherwise. We cannot see inside every cavity, under every slab, or behind every veneer on a walk-through. Concealed rot, wet decking, failed flashings, unmarked utilities, expansive clay, tree roots, and other hidden conditions can change the scope and price. Estimates are good-faith opinions based on what was visible at the time. They are not a guarantee of final cost.
Insurance claims — we are not a public adjuster
Genes Construction is a construction contractor, not a licensed public insurance adjuster, attorney, or claims consultant. We do not negotiate claim payments on your behalf as an adjuster, and we cannot promise that your carrier will approve, pay, or pay a particular amount for roofing, storm, siding, or other work. Coverage, deductibles, depreciation, and claim decisions belong to you and your insurer. You are responsible for your policy and for any amounts the carrier does not pay.
Permits, codes, HOA, and utilities
Unless a signed contract expressly includes them, the owner is responsible for HOA approval, city or county permits, inspections, impact fees, and locating private utilities. Work must comply with applicable codes as enforced by the authority having jurisdiction at the time of the job. Code or HOA requirements discovered after estimate can affect materials, details, and cost. We are not the building official and do not warrant municipal or association approval.
Warranties — written terms only
Any workmanship warranty is only the warranty stated in the signed contract. Manufacturer warranties on shingles, metal, underlayment, windows, shade hardware, coatings, and similar products are the manufacturer’s, subject to their terms, registration, and exclusions (including weather, installation conditions, and owner maintenance). Verbal statements, website copy, and reviews do not expand those warranties. Emergency tarps, temporary dry-in, and similar storm measures are temporary and are not a completed roof or a warranty of weathertightness.
Photographs and results
Gallery and service photographs are examples of work in the Dallas–Fort Worth area or representative of the type of work described. They are not a promise that your house will look identical. Color, stone blend, brick, paint, concrete finish, and fabric can vary with batch, sun, moisture, and viewing angle. Natural stone and masonry units are not uniform.
Concrete, soil, and drainage
Concrete cracks. Control joints are placed to manage where cracks occur; they do not eliminate cracking. North Texas clay soils expand and shrink with moisture. Settlement, heave, hairline cracking, and surface crazing can occur after a proper pour and are not, by themselves, proof of defective work. We do not warrant against all cracking, movement, or drainage changes caused by weather, irrigation, trees, or neighboring grade. Pitch and drainage are designed from conditions visible at the time of the job; the owner is responsible for keeping gutters, drains, and grade from dumping water against slabs and foundations after we leave.
Masonry, stone, siding, paint, and exterior shades
Mortar, brick, and stone can show efflorescence, color variation, and hairline movement at joints. Repointing and veneer repairs address the work specified, not every future weather cycle. Exterior coatings fail first on west and south elevations; prep and product do not freeze time. Outdoor roller shades and screens are specified to an opening and an exposure. Wind, hail, and misuse can damage fabric and hardware. A shade system is not a storm shelter, insect-proof enclosure, or building envelope unless the signed scope says so. Ratings (including wind) apply only to the system actually installed, used as directed.
Weather, schedule, and site conditions
North Texas heat, storms, freeze, and high wind delay roofing, concrete, paint, and masonry. We do not control the weather, material mill schedules, or city inspection calendars. Access, pets, vehicles, and occupants must allow a safe site. Damage from owner-supplied items, preexisting conditions, or third-party trades is not our responsibility unless the contract says otherwise.
Professional services we are not providing
Nothing on this site is architectural, structural-engineering, geotechnical, legal, or insurance advice. If a project needs a licensed engineer, architect, or surveyor, that professional is engaged separately. We are a construction company performing the trades described in a given contract.
Limitation of website liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, Gene’s Construction, LLC is not liable for damages arising from use of this website, reliance on its content, or inability to use it, including lost profits or data. Third-party sites (including Facebook, Houzz, and Yelp) are outside our control. This limitation does not waive liability that Texas law does not allow a contractor to disclaim for work performed under a signed contract — those terms live in the contract.
Governing law
These website disclaimers are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes about this website is in the state courts serving Collin County, Texas, unless a signed contract specifies otherwise for the job.
